How might I show how Change happens? Physically, conceptually, and spiritually?
This question fundamentally points to metaphysical and ontological questions that address being and becoming self-awareness. Why do i think exploring the concept and representations of Change right now is simple, climate and political change IS impacting all of us.

was designed in the fall of 2000. Rubeling was analyzing Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro score and libretto. She often would transcribe notes onto staff paper. The O — diagram helped her organize an understanding of how Mozart utilized the circle of fifths ratios to communicate the arc of the drama.
Professor Rubeling continually uses this approach to analysis whenever she need to work out creative, literary, and theoretical concepts.
The primary inspiration for the ∞ drawing series is Leibniz’s Monadology concept and his internally illuminated chamber allegorical description. Deleuze’s essay “The Fold”, further explains and imagines this chamber allegory.
The ∞ drawing series represents remembering, thinking and futuring operations. The scale for these drawings was chosen to embody the physicality and performativity of my drawing process: the use of the arm as a radius; the in-between space of the body drawing and the paper; the in-between space of the paper to the wall and the room. How spatial awareness might occur.
Each drawing is approximately 60 inches square and drawn with multi-media pencil, chalk, India ink, charcoal, watercolor, chalkboard paint on Bockingford cold press watercolor paper. Techniques of construction include layering chalk erasures, use cool and warm black pigments and projective geometries.
Panel drawings use Dutchman over multi-media on wood panels. Techniques of construction include layering chalk erasures, use cool and warm black pigments, and folding of long triangular pieces of muslin.
All the drawings from this series are for sale. Priced upon request, Lorirubeling@gmail.com.
